Thanks to Wave at Reviews by Jessewave for a terrific 4.75 stars for Notturno. She wrote a wonderful, in-depth review that indicated to me that she really understood where I was trying to go with this one. It’s hard to find your way into a genre that is as beloved as the vampire paranormal niche and it feels virtually impossible to say anything in a new or fresh way. So it was a wonderful thing to see that she enjoyed it as much as she did.
She said this:
Notturno is not your usual vampire tale because these are not the kind and gentle vampires most of us are accustomed to reading about in many paranormal books. Here they mean business and are not hesitant to use violence to achieve their ends. But the beauty of the book is the prose as Dante’s journal reminisces about his one true love in rich and sensuous terms that bring Auselmo back to life.
