Once again it’s time for the weekly Sunday Brunch with ZA Maxfield! This week, we have one awesome friend joining us! Please welcome Charlie Cochet!

This week’s question is: “If you could have any animal, real or mythical, as a pet, what would you choose?”

***BIG NEWS*** From now on, instead of the ebooks we’ve been awarding as prizes, I’ll be giving out a $5.00 Amazon gift card so readers can use it for the ebook (or other Amazon purchase) of their choice. All you have to do is comment below for your chance to win!

The Auspicious Troubles of Chance Book Cover 300Without further ado, let’s hear from Charlie!

That’s a really tough question. I can almost hear people shouting “dragon!”, and yes, having a pet dragon would be pretty awesome. But let’s think about that for a moment. I live in the middle of a big city and have a tiny yard. If it were a large dragon— which would be preferable since it would cut down on some serious traffic time when flying me to the supermarket—where would he sleep? The shed is too small and let’s face it, palm trees make flimsy perches. The neighbor’s dogs are constantly yapping. I think we all know how well that would turn out. Then there are the vast quantities of meat he’d consume. Unless he was a vegetarian then there’s plenty of munchies around Miami, though I doubt the county would be too pleased to find patches of decimated fruit trees. At least the heat wouldn’t bother him.

I think for both our sakes, I’d need a pet I could keep indoors. Also this is Miami. There’s a chance if he’s not bolted to the floor, they’ll make off with him. Indoor pet it is. Providing it’s well-trained, won’t main or shred me to ribbons, I think I’ll go with a Kitsune—or Japanese fox. A Kitsune can have up to nine tails, depending on how old, wise, and powerful it is. Not only is it an adorable fox, but it’s magical and a shapeshifter. Though I’m going to go with the Zenko Kitsune which is a benevolent fox rather than the Yako foxes which are mischievous and sometimes malevolent. I’ve watched enough episodes of Supernatural to know to stay away from any malevolent creatures. Unless the Winchester brothers are going to come to my rescue. I might chance a Yako then. 😉

If I had a pet it would have to be a rock because I’m allergic to almost everything! We always had a dog when I was growing up though, and I wish we could have one now. I love The Auspicious Troubles of Chance! Thank you for hosting Charlie and for the giveaway. 😀

I believe I would love to have a Pegasus! I love horses but to be able to fly and ride one would be awesome! Thanks for the giveaway.

Well I have a big yard and the dragon might help cut down on my heating bills in the winter which were quite horrendous this year 🙂 Also I have a very nice shed that would provide some nice accommodations as well. I’d like a dragon the size of the one in JB McDonald’s Dragon series.

If I was living in a fantasy world, my choice would be a dragon. Otherwise, a phoenix bird would be my pick with it’s smaller size and healing tears.
