This is my friend Jason. He’s my Weight Watchers Leader, a man who lost 168 pounds and has maintained that weight loss. He’s caring, compassionate, and dedicated to sharing his joy and his success with everyone he meets. He’s an athlete, a cook, an inspiration, and I can’t tell you how much fun his meetings are.
In this picture, I’m signing up for Running 101 at an entirely non-Weight Watcher event, but he just happened to be there! He had nothing but encouragement for me.
Make no mistake, I am scared of trying this. I’ve walked for miles and miles at a time but I’ve never run, ever. Not even as a kid, and yet, with this group, who are all experienced runners. some of whom began overweight and wimpy like me, I feel pretty optimistic about it. More to follow about that. I’m determined to participate in a 5K run by the fall. Considering I can barely run the length of a facial tissue this will be an effort…
See ZAM. See ZAM run. (No ZAM NO! Don’t sit on that!) Go ZAM, go! (Sorry, Theodor Geisel.)
As you can see, Jason is cute as a button. I’m supporting his newest journey, AIDS/LifeCycle 2015, his biggest physical challenge yet (it’s a 7-Day 550 mile or so bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles!)

I’m on team Jason!
Do you want on Team Jason too??? Some of you might consider donating and/or simply cheering him along. This is a HUGE endeavor he’s undertaking–a quest to raise money and awareness for the fight against AIDS. I wish him nothing but success and joy in the journey!
BRAVO, BRAVO, BRAVO!
Happy New Year, Zam! Thanks for sharing Jason’s journey. I hope he has an amazing time on the ride. Since moving west I’ve considered doing this ride, but my heart’s back on the East Coast and I’ll be headed back there this fall for the Boston-NYC ride. Maybe one day I’ll tackle the SF-LA beast.
You’re amazing too, Jeff, hit me up again this year, I’d like to support your journey as well–as much as I can! If you have a page like Jason’s I’ll feature it next week…
I can’t even imagine riding that distance, but I’ll bet it will be utterly unforgettable.
ZAM
Awwww, thanks! I’ll definitely be reaching out to as many people as possible for this year’s ride since I’m now fundraising from across the country from where the ride is. I don’t have a donation page yet, but will by the end of the month and I’ll let you know when it’s there as I would love to be featured here to help get much need donations. *hugs*
