Ethan Holmes and Barry Moffit have been in love since they were kids. This story, a ferociously re-edited version of the free read serial I wrote in 2008 as a protest over the passage of Proposition 8 in California, follows the course of their love in ten year intervals from the moment they first admit it, in 1978, to a major breakup and reconciliation in 1998, to a family vacation in Hawaii that turns into more in 1998, and the election night, a time of deliberation and decision, in 2008.
I am pleased with the results of my work here. Probably it’s more personal than a lot of the things I’ve done. These stories have been available for free, unedited, on my website since 2008, but I no longer have them posted. I’ll be donating part of the nominal .99 price to the HRC for their work toward marriage equality.
This version includes the story of Ethan and Barry’s first christmas together, “The Cursed Noel.”
