Twenty-Five(ish) Days of Giveaways – Day #14 – Guest: Jeff Adams

December 14, 2016 by William Cooper

It looks like the house-elf had a little mix-up and we missed some giveaways! Opps. 😡 I promise I’ll make it up to you lovely readers! For now, please accept my sincerest apologies!

Today we have two items up for grabs! The first prize available is an audiobook code for All Stirred Up by ZA Maxfield! We also have an eBook copy of Love’s Opening Night provided by our lovely guest author, Jeff Adams!

Now let’s hear a little bit about what Jeff is thankful for! Then you can enter the giveaway below!

What I’m thankful for…

I have a lot in my life that I’m thankful for—two of which I’ll briefly talk about here.

First, I’m thankful for ZAM! Thanks for inviting me to spend a part of the holiday on your blog. Thanks for letting me giveaway a copy of my latest release, Love’s Opening Night, to your readers. Thanks for being an awesome friend too. I love the talks we have, which are always wonderful and inspirational (most don’t know at this point that ZAM is a significant influence on a series that’ll start next fall—more on that when it comes out).

Second, and the major recipient of my thanks, is my husband, Will. I’m lucky that I fell in love with and married my best friend. We’re great partners in life, navigating a myriad of things in our twenty plus years together. He’s also become a wonderful business partner as we work together in writing, publishing and podcasting. He’s tremendous and I can’t imagine what life would be like without him.

Love’s Opening Night Blurb

lovesopeningnightcover_400x600Can an onstage love story lead to a real-life romance?

Jeremy Steele is a veteran Broadway performer. For his latest role, he’s dancing alongside a man he’s fantasized about for years, TV star Ty Beaumont. Jeremy knows better than to get involved with a castmate, but when Ty has trouble learning the complicated choreography, Jeremy offers to lend a hand. When a rehearsal kiss turns into something more, Jeremy can’t help but wonder what a celebrity like Ty could ever see in a Broadway chorus boy like him. Will a relationship with his crush make it past previews, or can it become a long-running hit?

Jeff’s written stories since he was in middle school and became a gay romance writer in 2009 when his first short stories were published. Since then he’s written several more shorts and novels, including some in the young adult genre, and he plans to keep writing as long as wonderful readers keeping picking up his books.

Jeff lives in rural Northern California with his husband of twenty years, Will. Some of his favorite things include the musicals Rent and [title of show], the Detroit Red Wings and Pittsburgh Penguins hockey teams, and the reality TV competition So You Think You Can Dance. Jeff is also the co-host of Jeff & Will’s Big Gay Fiction Podcast.

Twenty-Five Days of Giveaways – Day #11 – Guest: Z Allora

December 11, 2016 by William Cooper

Good morning!

It’s a bit chilly here in Texas, but it’s shaping up to be a good holiday season! Are you folks ready for today’s giveaway? First up we have an audiobook code for ePistols at Dawn by ZA Maxfield! Second, we’ve got the ebook edition of Happy Holidays by Z. Allora!

We also have a wonderful guest post from Z! So check that out, then enter the giveaway below! (Hint hint: She’s even giving away a bonus prize!)

* * *

I want to thank ZAM for allowing me to dance on her site. I’ve LOVED ZAM’s work for years!!! A friend who wanted me to go to YaoiCon told me to read Drawn Together. I scheduled my trip California before I was halfway through Drawn Together. I also purchased all available ZA Maxfield works and I’ve been a huge fan ever since.

I wrote Happy Holidays as a way prove sex scenes shouldn’t be skipped. Happy Holidays is filled with hot sex scenes, but the real focus is where these couples are in their relationships. That is shown through their reactions and use of a bag of sex toys. One is struggling with insecurities, another is tighter than ever and the third is working to establish stability.

Please leave a comment about what you plan to do for the holiday to enter to win an e-book copy of Happy Hanukkah.

Happy Holidays Blurb:

happyholidaysWhat do erotic sex toys and Hanukkah have to do with each other?

Absolutely nothing unless you’re a member of the famous rock band The Dark Angels and the shy but kinky Robin gives gifts that guarantee to spice up the holidays!

Each couple makes the most of these unique gifts, blending love and orgasmic fun to REALLY celebrate the holidays.

Check it out on Amazon!

Twenty-Five Days of Giveaways – Day #9 – Guest Charlie Cochrane

December 9, 2016 by William Cooper

Good morning, wonderful readers! It’s Day #9 of ZAM’s Twenty-Five Days of Giveaways! Today, we’ve got a special guest joining us! Please welcome Charlie Cochrane! Up for grabs for lucky readers today are two wonderful prizes! We’ve got an audiobook code for Blue Fire by ZA Maxfield and an eBook copy of Wild Bells by Charlie Cochrane!

But first, we’ve got a guest post from Charlie about what she’s thankful for! So check it out and enter the giveaway after!

Now be thankful

In an extraordinary coincidence, just as I sat down to write this post about things I’m thankful for, the Fairport Convention song, “Now be Thankful” has come on my playlist. So I’d better start by saying how grateful I am to serendipitous things – and to ZA for letting me come and take part in her event. The third thing I’m thankful for is this whole time of the year.

I’m like the worst sort of overexcited child about Christmas. It begins when I buy lots of things in the January sales to go away for next Christmas, goes onto “simmer” mode through the summer and bursts forth again in November. The Cochrane household is already full of: presents bought, wrapped and hidden away; cards written and ready to post; Christmas songs being sung by me and youngest daughter at annoyingly loud volume and other seasonal delights.

The Christmas lights have been turned on in our local town Romsey, and we’re looking forward to the late night shopping event there, which has lots of wonderful events happening in the past. Alas they no longer have the event where you can drink mulled wine while sitting in a 13th century hunting lodge and listening to madrigals, but you can imagine how magical that was.

We all have special memories of this time of year, moments that we wish we could bottle up to get put and relive again. Going to a carol service at a 1000 year old abbey, listening to the bells ringing out on a starry night. Enjoying the smell of pine needles on the tree or mince pies in the oven. Finding Sage Derby and Red Windsor cheeses in the shops!

But there are also stories that go into family legend, like the year my mother-in-law had to hide the gin bottle because of overindulgence by all present on New Year ’s Eve. And then she couldn’t find said bottle the next day! The younger Cochranes have been known to eat so much at Christmas dinner that they have to lie down on the floor before they can even face pudding.

And I guess every family has its traditions, things that are unique to it. When I think of my childhood Christmases my first thought is always of my aunts and uncles playing nine-card brag with a kitty set at a halfpenny a game. I wonder if my girls will always remember the obligatory spout everyone has to have with Christmas lunch, whether they like the things or not, or the traditional quiz that marks the gap in the meal while the pudding cooks?

There’s a huge amount of pressure in the media to have a “perfect” Christmas, with all the gourmet cooking, homemade decorations and stressful razzmatazz that involves. But, for me, the perfect Christmas features family and friends and the sort of magical moments money can’t buy. Now be thankful? I always will be.

Wild Bells – Two stories by Charlie Cochrane

wildbells500x329The Shade on a Fine Day:
Curate William Church may set the hearts of the parish’s young ladies aflame, but he doesn’t want their affection or presents, no matter how much they want to give them to him. He has his sights set elsewhere, for a love he’s not allowed to indulge. One night, eight for dinner at the Canon’s table means the potential arrival of a ghost. But what message will the spirit bring and which of the young men around the table is it for?

The Angel in the Window:
Two officers, one ship, one common enemy.
Alexander Porterfield may be one of the rising stars of the British navy, but his relationship with his first lieutenant, Tom Anderson, makes him vulnerable. To blackmail, to anxieties about exposure—and to losing Tom, either in battle or to another ship. When danger comes more from the English than the French, where should a man turn?

Furry Kids by Megan Slayer

I want to thank ZA Maxfield for having me on the blog today. It’s always fun to hang out with friends. I’m thankful for my friends.

This time of year makes me think of all of the things I’m thankful for. There’s the craziness of gift buying, the zaniness of traffic, plus the weather. There’s so much stress that can get a body down.

There’s one surefire way I find my zen, though. My critters. The cats and dogs.

When I’m stressed and need a few minutes, one of the cats or dogs know. They seek me out. I’m greeted with wagging tails and a kitty head-butt. I wouldn’t change it for anything.

I’ve got three cats—each with their own personality. The orange one is the angry old man cat. He’s the oldest and has been through the most. His tail is crooked and was snapped in half when he was a baby. I love his quirk. He doesn’t like many people and prefers quiet. When I’m really blue, he knows to find me. The black cat is the most social. He truly thinks he’s a dog. He follows me around like a puppy and eats the dog’s food. He’s more comfortable with the dogs, too. He’s not the most lovey-dovey, but that’s okay. He knows how to be around when I need to scoop him up for a cuddle. Then there’s the fluffy black and white cat. He’s the troublemaker. He stays out of sight until there’s something he shouldn’t climb into/get into/destroy…then he shows up. He keeps me on my toes. But he’s a cuddler. If I’m upset, I find him. I’m thankful for them each in their own way. The fuzzy face staring at me when I’m sad, the pushiness wanting to take my seat, but staying close and the knowing…I’m glad they’re in my life.

Then there are the canines. The dogs aren’t the cuddlers in the same way as the cats. I’m thankful for them, too, but in a different way. My dog—yes, DH and I have our own dogs…not because we chose to have a dog each, but because the dogs chose us—loves to be right next to me. Like, if I go somewhere, she has to be there. If I’m sitting on the couch, she has to be right beside me. If I walk out of the room, she has to know where I’m going. She’s silly and loyal. She knows, just like the cats, when I’ve had a rough day. She’s stinky and drooly (being part basset hound tends to bring out both qualities), but like I said, she’s loyal and I wouldn’t want her any other way—okay, maybe not the stinkiness, but there are always baths. The big black dog, DH’s dog, personifies the big, goofy dog. He’s lovable, cuddly and pushy. I’m not his person, but he’s still a good sport. He’s the player and the roughhouser. He helps me forget my troubles.

All of my critters are strays, either adopted from the animal shelter or from the pound. They’re silly, goofy, pushy and wonderful. The pets are quite the characters, but I wouldn’t have them any other way. They brighten my day and have featured in many of my stories. Without them, I’d probably be bored.

Keeping with the theme of thankfulness, here’s a little bit about my Thanksgiving story, Harvest Moon:

Harvest Moon by Megan Slayer

ms_harvest_moonWhat’s a guy to do when the time to be with family is the time he dreads the most?

All Matt Green wants for Thanksgiving is to propose to his boyfriend in the most epic way he knows-in front of their families. There’s only one catch. His boyfriend, Reed Jordan, doesn’t do family gatherings. To be honest, Reed isn’t wild about Thanksgiving, but he won’t say why.

Matt’s willing to do anything in order to get Reed to talk, but will it make the holiday perfect or or ruin all of Matt’s plans? The Harvest Moon just might be the right omen to make everything all right.
